I have met a few Linesmen that work for Western Power..........They are Totally Bonkers !
Have heard they have a competition to see who will be the first to go up a tower starkers....in the snow !

Was a linesman in the days before safety harnesses, hardhats etc....  when "Health and Safety" arrived the job became sh!t.... no drinking when climbing.... bl**dy heathens    

We had a guy in the Kendal linegang who tested the new safety line by jumping off the top arm... it worked

The fun ended when free-climbing was banned

But I´ve always thought that pleasure is intensified by risk
