The point is always worth re-inforcing......even I find a reminder worthwhile......and my first mini (the only car i ever bought brand new) was written off on Bodmin moor with my wife and 6 month old son in, (i'd had seat belts fitted as an optional extra + a cot strap in the back....i was a right loony back then....must have had a eureka moment!)
i got 4 broken ribs off my belt, swmbo got 2, + a 2" wide nylon burn across her shoulder, and #1 son, who had been sucking his thumb seemed to have managed to get his index finger up his left nostril and a cot full of broken glass as the windscreen imploded.
Fact is, the bloke who drove into us head on (overtaking a lorry round a bend) in his new capri....sadly died....no seat belt....
We're here, by sheer luck (the mini cost me £550 cash on the road with belts, delivery, number plates etc) belts wern't cumpulsory in 1967......I could have saved £8 by not having belts......and at the time 8 quid amounted to 64 pints of beer....I regularly thank our gaurdian angel believe me
