Diesel Bike Rally
« on: June 07, 2010, 07:05:46 AM »
Hi all, Pat & I went down to Dijon in France to visit the classic bike meet / racing at Prenois and on the way back stopped off at West Sussex to visit the Diesel Bike Rally at the Bat & Ball pub......what an unusual collection of bikes and owners from all over Europe.....mainly Germany.....Rudolf would be proud (Rudolf Diesel that is). One thats sticks in my mind was a Swede who converted a Suzuki GSX1100 and fitted a 250cc 6hp whacker engine.......top speed 45mph on a flat road with no wind and he rode from Sweden to Calais and is at large in this country as I type this. He sleeps under a 1 foot high tent held down with screwdrivers, drinks Baileys from the bottle and is a thoroughly engaging chap. I gave him a list of Bike meets and events so beware.

I have to admit i always fancied buildingone as well. There are some good lightweight engines out there now and some once you take off all the trimmings are not a lot bigger than a 4 cyl mototcycle engine.

You could set up an account at http://photobucket.com/ and host them there, it's very easy to use, any problems shout.
