TT time again

I'm not one for supporting or being a fan of anything very much but I have to say I enjoy watching Guy Martin race and arse about on the Prom after the races.

He seriously needs to win a TT.

One of my favourite Guy qoutes is when he's talking in his IOM workshop with his mechanics, "Oh ay, the kettle's always warm in this workshop, we packed 1,000 tea bags and they might just last us the two weeks". It has absolutely no relevance to his IOM campaign and hopes, but it's important to him so that's what he talks about 

He's as far away from the corporate world of GP as you can get.

Can you imagine the doctor trying to find out where it hurts? I'm guessing he (or she) would listen to Guy going on for three solid minutes and then just turn to a nurse and say "Administer as much sedative as you can without killling him"

Pictures of Guy Martin's crash are finally appearing on the interweb



I found another one last night taken head on 1 second before he bailed, his front is definitely tucked under... I'll see if I can dig it out again.

I also found this, allegedly from one of the TV broadcast people on the Island:
"To answer one or two questions, firstly about Guys bump: Fast right hander (they're all fast though apart from one or two, aren't they), bike went into the bales on the left and ignited them, then bounced out and hit some more bales about 50m further on. Lots of burning. I'm not sure where Guy himself seperated from the bike, but he ended up in the middle of the road about 100m further on from where bike ended up. He had an onboard camera at the time, and although that was thoroughly toasted, the card that lives in the little box wasn't, there is footage out there, which we weren't allowed/didn't really want to broadcast and has gone off to the stewards. Michael Dunlops on-board camera caught most of the devastation as he was only about 10 seconds behind him. Again, in the interests of taste, footage of a potentially seriously injured rider being treated in the road wasn't going to be shown, especially at the time of the edit (about 7-8pm) there wasn't any really solid info about his exact state, especially in relation to his spine.
Connors off, although less spectacular in terms of fireballs etc, was a bit more nasty looking. The whole thing was seen fairly clearly by the helicopter, he was heading into another very fast right hander , I'd guess at 140+ although I'm sure others know the speed you'd take the Verandah at better then me, the back end did a grip/slip/grip/slip thing, causing him to lowside, parting from the bike almost instantly. Both he and the bike headed towards the kerb, him spread eagled on his back, and both bounced as soon as they hit it, the bike cartwheeling off down the embankment. The ground drops away a bit about 3m from the kerb, down to a dry stone wall, Connor landed in front of the wall, bounced again, and luckily, cleared the wall itself, landing in the field behind. Bear in mind the force of an impact that'd allow you to bounce high enough to clear a wall, and you'll have some idea of the injuries he's sustained. My fingers are very firmly crossed for him. Again, the footage is with the Stewards, and it doesn't make especially pleasant viewing"

Considering the crash looks, and probably was, quite a serious 'off' he doesn't seemed to phased by it. Here is is a quote from his blog:

"Right, I never mentioned but I had a bit of an off while in the Isle of Man doing the TT races last week, nowt too serious, I’m nearly mended now .................. Having not been at work for a week has put a fair bit of strain on my mum , mr +mrs lancaster as well as the farmers daughter, but none of them have told me to piss off yet, so ta very much"

Just what you'd expect really. Seems like a top bloke!
