Ooh, it's a bit dark at the back

My MT-03 has a natty little tail light/stop light assembly all lit up by a single bulb. Very twee until the single 5W filament goes out and then you have no tail light which is rather bad news when the sun is going down and you have to get home. OK, you still have the stop light and the number plate illumination light so all is not lost.

Changing the bulb is a complete load of dingoes kidneys. Four bolts underneath the exhaust can (underseat job) and a two piece plate with joining rubber block comes off. Needless to say, the bolts were corroded as they receive all the road spray. Then you can get to the bulb holder and change the bulb. Reassembly is a reversal of removal.....

Anyway moving on, I bought a LED tail light assembly from fleabay which is used for putting trail bikes onto the road. This is a neat little unit that fits nicely on the tail assembly just above the number plate light. It gives me peace of mind as I now know I have two tail/stop light assemblies. If I am feeling excitable tomorrow, I will do some pictures of it and upload them.
