Weekend debrief
« on: April 11, 2010, 08:23:51 PM »
A bit of updating on the Ten as the waterpump is very vulnerable in it's position especially in some of the terrain that I am finding myself in these days. The bike came with the genuine Plastic underbelly protection which is in actual fact very robust but not of any use in protecting the waterpump. The Metal Mule bash plate that I goty with the deal was butt ugly and of no use again in protecting the pump. I have been keeping an eye on this product which I have seen advertised from Adventure Spec. a newly established company which specialises in parts for advemture touring bikes, and it seems I know one of the blokes and they are some 20 mins ride from where I live. Yamaha UK have withdrawn their engine guard from the distributors but this product is not only an engine guard but a bash plate as well.
Fitted on Saturday and went through to Hull for an afternoons racing (yacht).

Tubing is 25mm MIG welded, bracketry is 4mm, all powder coated. Bash plate is 4mm TIG welded and anodised. Fastenings are Stainless and spacers are alloy anodised.

That should do the job nicely. ;D
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

This weekend I have been packing boxes  :-\
Oh and I charged up the Skorpions battery ready for the move and fitted a big ugly roof box to swmbo's car.
Highlight so far was the dram I just finished  :)

No two wheeled tomfoolery yet...

Sally went for a little canter with 16:39 teeth rather than 15:37! ;D Much crisper note now that the carbon has all been cleaned out, valves reground, carbies cleaned out, ~60mph @3.5K and a little modification to the breathing system.  ;D

Funday off to Czech Republic! ;D

125 Moto GP  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Keep well, Bill.
