Re. Surplus and adventure (address listed in that list of URLs in a previous message)

I just bought some French army mess tins from them and was pleased to see they cost less than £3. Then I realised I'd commited to the sale and the postage was...
£6.95!

Bollocks.

Bill, stop it - you are scaring me!! I am skinny so will look like a worm and will get eaten by the trout.....

Maybe Ray Mears will have to step in and rescue me from being the first Bushcraft person to be eaten on one of his courses!!!

This all sounds sooooo impressive and absolutely ideal for inclement weather.

How are you going to transport it ?....and...............................................

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO USE IT!

I'll be up in the Dales Friday evening in the rain and gales 'cos its dry and sunshine forecast for Saturday! (wouldn't want to get too comfortable!)       and I'm going to the local MAG Xmas bash on the Sat evening.
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

The transport is looking good although the big sleeping bag is proving a bit of a sticking point. Having the bag on the back means an empty pannier, putting clothes etc. in the pannier is harder to get at than in a tail pack, put the bag in the pannier and it doesn't close too well. Some sort webbing in order me thinks.

The when is January 25th-31st and anytime I manage to get away from Christmas stuff/DIY/work! It's looking more and more like I'll be doing a GC in January, finish work at dinner time and head for the ferry!

compression sack or vacuume pump - work well for the sleeping bag.  Just remember to stuff down and roll "hollofill"  oh and dont keep the bag in the compression sack for too long - did that once and the bag never fluffed up again.
