Has anyone of you thumper fans got an Enfield bullet rolling chassis (or complete bike with blown engine) that you want to sell?
Cheers

Should be plenty about with blown engines (laughs).
I hate to think what you're going to put in it but would hazard a guess that the phrase 'XBR' will feature somewhere......................

I remember reading in Classis bike or somesuch years ago of an AJS/Matchless (?) with an XBR ( or possibly FT) engine fitted....it actually looked quite nice.

I've got that article, he did a smashing job, even getting a big 'M' milled into a crankcase cover.
Pat had similar thoughts at the start of his cafe racer project, but I think he found the costs of getting a suitable Brit chassis too high.

I've always wondered weather the XBR lump would fit into a BSA B31 frame, would make a cool special, you could use goldie replica bits maybe even the XBR front end.Don't go nicking my idea now

I think the big problem is the length of the engine bay on bigger Brit bikes. The XBR lump is very short and you would end up with either the engine too far back or the gearbox sprocket being a long way forward.
The guy who made a fantastic job of making an XBR-engined Manx cut nearly three inches out of the (ex-Owen Greenwood!) Featherbed frame to shorten it.
I have offered an XBR crankcase up to an Enfield chassis (thanks Steffan
) and it looks to be a good fit.
