Well between bouts of gardening and feeding my relatives (and having yet another port related hangover), I actually got an hour with the bike  ;D

The summer back wheel and MOT tyre are now fitted  :) Bad news is that the Dragon has got me perilously close to needing an oil change and a new chain  :(. The latter is getting dragged out as long as possible as I want to go into next year with the longest service interval possible. Still, can't grumble, 14000 miles out of this chain and maybe another 2000 left if I keep up to it.  ;D

I've given up on the Riders for Health chain oiler design. Supporting the bottle without fatigue cracks developing has proven difficult. Now playing with a pair of medical syringes although I have a slight worry about what customs in hot places might think  :o

I also finished that book you lent me GC. Very good, like you said. Learnt something too; when water is short, eat carbohydrates. Fat and protein need water to work. Could be useful in said hot places.

Memsahib and self spent Saturday carting derelict drainage pipes, broken up in situ cast concrete slabs, waste cullet to the cowp. Returned via the town with supplies, free firewood, free ballast and some free compost produced by the Council.  ;D

Forfar steak bridies, followed by rhubarb tarts and ginger pop to wash down. Tasty! ;)

Ascended the roof with ladders to check the chimmney after a 'hot' chimmney fire last midweek ??? Revealed one very clean, white flue, but a chimmney pot looking more like a river creek bed in Victoria OZ >:( very cracked and very unstable >:( Set too with a lump hammer and bolster to remove the pot, whilst watching the warm up practise for the A85 TT race season!! ::) Loons!! From the 'Grandstand'. Stack now ready to accept new pot, cowl refitted to keep rain out in the interim and cleaned the gutters for good measure. Daughter, Jooles and boyfriend Barni turned up for a blether and tea cakes. Finally, took them home @ 21:00hrs, then down to the chipper for fish wi' mushy peas and Iron Bru and a single chips for supper. Parrrrrp! :o

Sunday, got the tatties sorted out for chitting, cancelled cutting the hedge due to nesting greenfinch and blackbirds, beaten this time. ;)

Made real progress with the MZ, sorted the bars, tank, foot pegs and gear change.Started the old bopper up and it ran lovely, engaged first gear, lovely, no neutral!!! >:( Clutch plates stuck after standing idle! >:( No kickstart to try and free them off and I don't want to burn out the starter motor. Next job drain oil, coolant, remove water pump, clutch cover and  dismantle clutch!!!!! >:( Bikes!

Abandoned the workshop and went and watched Baldrick and Phil play in the mud, with multicoloured Mick. :D

Sad, EH???? Even write it up on here. ::)

Toodle pip, Bill.

I feel quite ill reading that. Port is the devil's own drink. It goes down eaily enough, but leaves you with a hangover like putting your head in a metal dustbin and then asking the Taliban to explode an IED under it.

After the usual Saturday morning round of squash with a few mates, I was roped into Mrs Squirrel's latest gardening adventure. This is how it works. She has all the ideas, none of which are generally humanly possible, then I get to figure out the best way to achieve a similar result without resorting to the occult. Finally (seeing as I'm sooo interested) I get to do the work! ::)

Heyho!

Sunday was much better. With the fore(wo)man missing I got down to some serious bike stripping. Not a lot of Dolly left now apart from frame, engine & swingarm. Now I just need the paypal account to fatten up so I can go spending ;D

Oh yes, nearly forgot, my new tent turned up too. Bit of a disaster though. It's a gillert 'twister 3' that means its poles are perminantly attached and 'roll' up into the carry bag. Great for quick erection, lousey for motorcycle transportation. Packed it forms a 800mm diameter flat disc! I look like some sort of ninja turtle!
Should be able to 'adapt' it though. Anyone seen my hacksaw??
