When the MZ is back together I shall clagg it on with pride!!

If I may be so bold as to answer on behalf of the workers of the former DDR - you all wish!!

To clarify...

At the Tauerntreffen they were selling nice little stickers of the old 'DDR' vehicle nationality plate. However, underneath the DDR was the phrase (in German so I forget the exact text) reading something like 'it may rust' - the three words beginning d d r).

I also sent one to Richard which had a similar phrase, but reading 'it may smoke'.

Apparently they are aimed directly at MZ riders  ;)

I am most happy for my MZ to wear it, and no doubt it will still be wearing when Hondas of a similar vintage are no more. I liked the TS with superelastic, how many MZs were at the treffen?

Bloody loads of the oily, smoky things  ;)

That TS was nice though...

It was galling seeing the ease with which they tackled the hill.

As for thumpers, there were some nice XTs of different vintages, including a very purposeful-looking 70s style XT with chair. One bloke on a Cagiva single trail bike rode up without chains... but then it turned out he's an Austrian hill-climb champ (driving a Lancia Beta in the classic classes).

Splendid gift arrived by post this morning.  In the absence of a (currently) working MZ I have a wide choice of 'smokers' top put it on.  Almost everything I own smokes to some extent.

Thank you Graham, much appreciated.
