I did a Sunday ride out like that.

On a Triumph Bonneville.

With semi-slick road tyres.

And lots of camping gear.

It didn't go as well   :-X

I'll definitely need some more practice on the snow though, before undertaking something like this!

Mud. It's easy to practise on mud in the UK and the theory is much the same. It will improve your anglo-saxon vocabulary too  ;)
