Bought some chilli's , game on !

Jethro, thinking of some fruity gin type of stuff . Any requests?

I only ask as we are the only two daft enough to try the end result .
Mmmmm !   Home made Peach Schnapps?
Could use dried Apricots now theres a thought....Or Dates OR Figgs as Christmas soon !

Just thinking out loud.

I think dates or figs may be too relaxed {!} .

Peaches sounds just fine . Returning to the chili , Boyd what is the ideal time to marinade said mixture ?

Looks like myself and trophy dave need some direction .
Can I also recommend a real ale called 'Black Death ' . I've forgotten the brewery . Jethro , can you assist or were you too busy looking for your top lip at the time ?

Rob .

Dave & Rob
The recipe I used was:

4 Lakeland Plastics 500ml. Fliptop Bottle = £8.00
2 1lt. Morrisons Vodka = £20.00
1 Packet Morrisons Birdseye Chilies = £1.00

Divide vodka between bottles.
Add two chilies (stabbed all over with fine pin).
Seal and leave for at least two weeks (Llanthony brew was for this time and was more than a little warm).

More chilies is bound to be hotter, but not sure how much difference extra time will make. Have two bottles made as Xmas presents that have been steeping for about six weeks (with three to go) so will report back as to their firepower

It is excellent with tomato juice as a spicey Bloody Mary..........

Experiment and Enjoy

Boyd

Hmm,I seem to remember that I left mine to soak for months on end.Thats probably why it looked like tea and tasted awful.

If you are going to leave it for months, de-seed the chile. The seeds are poisonous (can't remember what sort) with the result anything tastes bad once they start to leech through.
