At the end, by clicking on the magnifying glass, you can review which (if any) you got wrong.

I got 88%, and #48 wrong, but if it's atmospheric pressure that fills a cylinder, how do you generate a vacuum to make a carb work......eh?

Seeing as this could get competitive - 92% or 460 points.

I ballsed up the following and didn't cheat at all.

Q7 (drive ratio type)
Q16 (pulleys)
Q25 (electrical)
Q48 (bollocks, I still think I'm right and they're wrong)

Hehehehe..............that was fun.

Some of the questions are a bit ambiguous. It is atmospheric pressure that filles a cylinder but only because the falling pistons causes a vacumm, the pressure differential causing teh air flow. So the answer ' the air is sucked in' could be considered correct as well, just not technically accurate.

Carbs dont rely on a vacuum in the cylinder they rely on the venturi effect. The vacumm in the cylinder just causes the air to flow from outside to in

mmmm 92%, but i question the one about the fan......yes it will turn in the same direction facing each other, but, if say, the fan that is running is turning clockwise to produce a draft, then the unpowered fand will be forced to turn anticlockwise......or am i talking out of my ar5e?

The unpowered fan will turn anticlockwise if the powered fan is turning clockwise.

I got the suction/atmospheric pressure one wrong too. Isn't 'creating a vacuum' just another way of saying 'suction'? Without the vacuum, atmospheric pressure wouldn't fill the cylinder.

I'd agree with you about the fan. I'm going to test it in work on monday

i got 80%, i know the questions with the pulleys foxed me.

i was confused on a couple, and it would seem i'm owed points on the fan question and the induction question.

it seemed fairly typical that i just scraped a 'pass'. use the absolute minimum of brain power required to complete a task sucessfully!
