Just had an Idea. In two weeks time Rick, Alan and myself are going over to Holland. Rick is coming upo here from Southampton in his VAN. He will then use the SRX for the Holland trip which he has now purchased. On nthe return trip to Sout'n he intends to shoe Horn the SRX into the back of his VAN, I'm sure there will be enough room for an engine!.... and he has to pass by your area! Just a thought. SteveD

Steve,

Blimey, most impressed.

I have been offered a 1VJ engine for my somewhat knackered XT600 - trouble is that it is in York and I am in West Wales..........

And its a bloody long way.

It belongs to a chap called Jim Bridgeman (07950004420) from the HUBB Yamaha List.

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/yamaha-tech/cheap-engine-37447

Steve,

He is willing to take £150 for the engine which he tells me is in fairly good order.  If I were to post up the dosh could you get in touch, have a look at the engine and so long as theres nothing obviously duff with it hand him the money and take custody of the engine for me.

If it could be made to work out I could then collect the engine from the van on the way to Southampton.  Or at least I can get hold of it one day, some way.  I've been after one for about 1 1/2 years now.....

Complicated - naaaah.

I am working 15:00 - 23:00 on Thursday, 18:00 - 02:00 on Friday and Saturday.

Email me off list on aelybryn at llambed dot wanadoo dot co dot uk and or phone me on either 01570 422999 or 07857643572 (dodgy, little reception in the wilds) and I will post up the money asap.

Obviously we are looking at beers aplenty and petrol money for your trouble..............

Cheers,

Richard

Excellent.  I used to go to an MZ rally in Princetown.  It mainly involved a large breakfast.

Speak to you soon.  If you send me your address I can get some money in the post tomorrow.

You sound sorted, but any issues drop me a line. There is a RepMobile in Leeds that could be pressed into service next week.

Sorry, I've not been in for a while. I live 10 miles east of York. What do you need help with, exactly? I have a trailer if that's any use.

Regards
Richard

I will be passing York in three weeks time on my way back to Nottingham(don't you have relatives down here?) I could collect the engine and bring it back here.It would need to be well packaged as it would be in the boot of the wifes car and she would not be pleased if it leaked oil everywhere.

Richard, I will call about the engine this week but things at my end are not as pressing now as Rick cannot make Holland so the lift down is not available. Do you think I could cut it into pieces and put it in my panniers and bring down by bike or would you prefer me to keep it in one lump and bring down in the Transit ;D
I will telephone you once I get back from Holland and we can make arrangements. I do not have a problem bringing the engine down and can make the opportunity to go for a beer with Pat and others. I'm sure I can blag a floor somewhere!.
Hope this arrangement suits you sir!Cheers SteveD

You can go for a beer with us mate, and there is always a floor or a bit of lawn here in the wilds.

Sounds good to me too.........

I've just had an email from the vendor - he's only going to keep it a couple more days then offer it to the next guy on the list.

Steve, are you in a position to give him a ring and make arrangements soonish ?

Let me have your address and I will send up the dosh.

Cheers,

Richard
