« on: May 31, 2008, 09:39:25 PM »
Hi,
I have seen a couple of references to an SRX600e ,how many were there? were they an import, and do they come up for sale very often? I like the look of the early twin shock srx's is this the later type

Aye Chrissie,

Later ones are mono's. Essentialy the XT600E motor with the oil tank in front of the motor where it gets covered in cr*p and looks ??? in my humble opinion.

This is a mono shock SRX, its a 400 but they are identical to the 600's

Its a lot lower than the twinshock and doesnt have kickstart. Personally I prefer the looks of the monoshock and in my opinion it handles better. That said I kept my twinshock and sold the monoshock.

Totally agree with you Bill
I really like the simple looks of the twinshocks (form follows function)
Anyway I have my work cut out with the SRX4oo I bought and I am very greatful to you all for any useful information.
Another very silly question, Where is the centre stand? Was this an optional extra? or has mine just been taken off! I have never had a bike without one.

Regards Chritine.

They only come with a side stand. With the the exhaust system fitted I don't think a centre stand would be possible anyway.
We all get Heavier as we get Older because there is a lot more information in our heads

and all that extra weight!
I know the sidestand looks a bit fragile...but are in fact very robust

you only have problems when parking on a downward slope (bike tends to role forward and colapse the stand...nasty) and soft ground (carry a puck in your jacket)

sorry for posting this in the wrong place to start with,
I couldn't even spell my name right! Is there a make of stand that works well for the srx400, also tried to send SteveL a pm for the srx600 manual I'll try again.
