As for the wet sock syndrome, remove socks wring out, place on heating in office and go bush or keep a pair of baffies in the office. Causes a few raised eyebrows but "S**'em", foot comfort is more important than some pon*y dress code. Fortunately, I am not bounded by such clonal rigour

My own pockets contain alsorts of detritous and I can't remember when they were last emptied. Found a tenner a while ago and the fish and chips wi' mushy peas were magic!

Just because I happen to be departing for the largest city in Holland for Stag-do part 2 on Thursday doesn't mean you can jump to any conclusions   

The pipe lives in the pouch with the baccy and hence only counts as one item, honest 

As for Morocco, if you are in the mood to try the wacky weed, don't do it there. While the coppers are usually about the most friendly and helpful on the planet outside Ireland they don't want the place to turn into a rerun of the '70's in Marakesh with a Ryan air flight full of trollied English yoof touching down every 30 seconds to boot. You've seen Midnight Express  Anyhow, the normal tobacco in the hubble bubble pipes plus their creosote/Uranium based coffee is enough for anyone who usually hardly drinks or smokes

To my shame my pockets nearly always contain woodscrews, drill bits and small screwdrivers. I do worry about what would happen if I fell off, but using the bike for my sort of job it's inevitable that I'll be riding around with pockets full of sharp metal things.

You having said that reminded me of something.

When I was at college, doing catering, my kitchen knives wouldnt fit inside my tankbag, so i bungee corded them on top, points facing away, of course. just glad i never had to test my landing technique.

All in jacket pockets which are really clever as some are near enough in your armpit they're so far away from your chest.
All other stuff is in the rucksack which travels with me in the topbox. That way, should Dolly pack up one day, I can walk off carrying my kit and leave my helmet/gloves locked in the [now empty] topbox.
Rucksack contains;
hat
waterproofs (top & bottom)
spare socks
small bottle of water (must change that!)
cargo net
earplugs for phone so I can use it as an MP3
mints (might of eaten them, better check)

All tools are in my Acme tool carrier (4" soil pipe bolted to bike)

A variety of junk - at one time included some leather needles.. oops.

Fell of girlfriends lil yamaha once with a trouser pocket loaded with hank bushes, split pins, machine screws etc - had come from work - and impaled myself on loads of them.  If said girlfriend had not been a nurse it would have been a good excuse for laying in A&E with a pretty young thing picking away in the nether regions.. ummmmmm.

As it was she was a nurse and embarrasement was saved.  Mind she was not impressed I had fallen off her bike.

The lil old dear who saw me fall off wanted to get an ambulance - I just wanted to get away before a friend came past and saw me.

Just a little thought.. I worry less about what is in my pockets than what the pockets / lining is made of.  Little bits of shrapnel are easy to pick out - if somewhat painful, manmade fibres however - that have melted on impact and welded themselves into your leg, arm etc are a real bugger to deal with.

My jacket pockets contain tabs, lighter, mobile, wallet, ear-plugs (2 sets, usually mis-matched), 90 degree valve stem thingy (SZR wheels on a twin-disc setup left little room to get garage air-hoses in) multi-allen ket set (changed most fasteners to allen heads, useful to tighten them every few hundred on the thumper), spare main fuse and little squirty bottle of visor cleaner, plus bits of old receipts, fluff etc.
