My Alpinestar Goretex gloves were the most comfortable gloves I'd ever owned and I held on to them for way longer than I should have. In the end the goretex lining gave up and with all the holes in the outer they were obviously no use any more. Although I'm not sure I've actually thrown them out yet.

My Dainese Anchorage jacket has seen 12 years hard service and survived two nasty accidents. I got fed up with it about five years ago and hung it in my garage where it started to get a bit mouldy. I dug it out and cleaned it off in a moment of guilt and I've been wearing it ever since. It's still waterproof, very warm and strangely, despite it being a bit big for me when I bought it, it seems to have shrunk to fit me perfectly.
I've still got a 13 year old Arai Quantum lid that I wore a lot this winter, but I'm back in the nasty cheap open face again now.
My Arai open face (same as Pat's) is still the best lid I've ever owned. I'm on my second now and the combination of light weight, great visor and superb visibility ("am I wearing a helmet?") makes it my favourite. For this reason I don't wear it day to day as I'm on and off the bike all day and my helmets get ruined if I wear them for work. I save it for rallies and rideouts.
My most impractical item that I won't get rid off is my Aero Leathers reproduction Irving flying jacket. It's fairly useless as a bike jacket (no pockets for a start), but I love it.

Cheers
