It costs us a small fortune to process our Mag, we have a lady who types it all out and then takes it to get commercially copied and collated. As she has been doing it for a few years, it may be difficult to show her how to do it electronically. BTW GC I havent as you have noticed been too active lately due to hardware probs and lack of time. Do you still want the odd antipodean news to put in your newsletter?

Did someone mention to me that an article pertaining to the indefatigable nature of 2 strokes saw the light of day in this journal. I must say if this disturbing rumour is true then standards are slipping a bit.

Steffan

No it's quite alright Steffan, it was only something about how they always foul their plugs and the owner wouldn't trust his to take him on a little tour to the fatherland...  ;) :P

GC  Cut off - well if there is no setting up cost then it is just cost per copy.  If there is a set up cost there is a point where the amortised set up cost means it is cheaper to photocopy in the liburary or print on the desktop.

Setting up cost? None of the print shops I use have ever charged for that, but I have always had the magazine either photocopied or printed from a file (Quark, Publisher, PDF, etc.) All the layout is done by me before printing.

I always present the artwork in the correct size and format, so this might help. For instance, for our A5 booklet, I supply a file of A5 pages arranged in printers pairs. Early on I used to take high quality printouts of the A4 sheets (with the pages laid out in pairs) and they would run it through a photocopier printing double sided sheets.

If you are looking for some cheap printing then send the artwork to me and I'm confident that my fella will beat your previous quotes.

Have retrieved it from my Sent items and forwarded it again ;-)

Hmmm... no sign of it at this end, sorry. Did you send it to my ntlworld address? My old Virgin.net address is no longer active.
