Mono Connection Rally

Hi All, Pat the pillion and I have spent a very enjoyable weekend with the " Cloggies " at a campsite near Doornenburg. We arrived last Thursday, set up camp and went for a ride and in the evening sat round drinking and talking with fellow visitors. Friday, more people arrived and some were perfecting their routes for Saturday, so we ( Pat & I ) went out for a longer ride to the north taking in some castles ( not as we know them ), more like posh houses with a moat, but interesting all the same. There were a few familiar faces visible when we got back to the campsite, Steve, Alan, Martin, Rick and Robert the Swiss plus a lot of locals, so Friday evening was spent in the restaurant and then to " the bunker " for lots of beer and talking into the early hours. Daz the Belgian mistook a window for a door and walked through it causing deep lacerations, resulting in a visit to the local hospital for stitches to his leg, taken there by Sjak ( the only one sober ) at 4am. Saturday morning dawned and the three arranged rides were reduced to two, one sporty, one sightseeing, so Pat chose the latter, led by Huub and what a nice day out we had taking in some hills and hairpin bends, yes in Holland. Daz was treated to a ride in a sidecar by a friendly German ( Matteus ) and a good day was had by all, except the dutchman whose clutch cable snapped. The evening was a repeat of Friday with even more beer and talking with a prize giving resulting in me receiving a trophy for DR not so Big ( tractor trophy ) and high jinx with a cow. I'm sure the others will fill in the gaps when they return home tomorrow.
