SMF - Just Installed!
With the help of a more experienced friend the plug tap has carefully been wound through the thread twice with a little swarf appearing. Some but not much resistance was felt and pressure was mostly applied by turning the tap by hand using an appropriate extension to access down the deep plug tunnel. After cleaning a new plug went in again mainly by hand with final tightening to nip it up when the washer had crushed slightly. So it seems job done .I couldn't get the engine to fire this afternoon. I removed the airbox and squirted some East Start directly in to the carbs. It fired a couple of times but wouldn't run.
OK, so if proof were needed it has been confirmed I'm officially an idiot!I forgot to connect the electrics back to the fuel pump. I discovered this when making some checks today. It now seems to be running on all 4 cylinders.
