Calling GC - XBR500SJ

Hi GC,

I'm guessing that the XBR was wearing a non-standard colour scheme - looks good (or did until the cage driver wrecked the front end). Did you buy it like that or did you have the bike done professionally somewhere? Never seen an XBR in them colours, strikes me they'd suit any Honda - do you still have it?

Yep still got it at the back of the shed, awaiting restoration. It did go back on the road for a while and Jethro owned it briefly. I took it to the 2000 Elefant rally.

I had the paintjob done by Dream Machine. It was lovely.

Dream Machine - ooh, nice (£££). It did look the business - question is, when it's rebuilt will you have it done again? The XBR suited the standard schemes IMO but that red/green/white looked real good. As a yoof I used to dream of a YammaGamma with a Dream Machine Kenny Roberts/Akai paint job (and Linda Lusardi on the pillion!!)

I might keep the colour scheme, but the run of bad luck the bike suffered (ask Jethro about the tank) gave some credence to the superstition that you should never have green on a vehicle.

Cheers
