Thumping again, mk2
« on: March 23, 2021, 04:49:03 PM »

Well, I have the pint glass (which I shall put to good use later!), the Himmo arrives next week!

Getting an 18 month old example with 840 miles on the clock. It's like new, comes with genuine R.E. crash bars fitted and £600 cheaper than a new one. I also got a fair deal for the black Jawa in p-ex.  ;D

Congratulations Pete, hope you enjoy (when possible!). Will we see it at Stafford?

Jolly good, you will soon get used to the inferior performance of the RE compared to the Jawa,  but at least you have another... where did you get the glass, like it,  :)

Fabulous news Pete. I will follow with interest how the Himalayan suits you as I love the idea of them but just don't know how they are in real life. All I can say though is I've never read anything bad about them.

I wasn`t impressed, various reasons but the main one being the back mudguard too high, (or my legs too short) also very little power
it felt gutless and I was always changing down , back to back with the RE 500 trials there was no contest, 500 all the way. It was ok to ride, apart from not being as fast as a GN250 !  I had three rides on the Himalayan on all sorts of roads, i did like the compass though !!

The glass was a freebee from the dealer Quarry Bank Motorcycles. I'm not sure about the Jawa's superior performance - I've ridden with Timbo a few times and struggled to keep up with his Himmo!
