Wow! They gonna look at your brake fluid! (oh hang on, maybe that will be just a visual inspection?)
And a Dangerous Fail means your bike is stuck at the MOT station!

Could be hard work for old bikes LESS THAN 40 yrs old.

Interesting move to get rid of diesels too: ANY colour of smoke is a fail (maybe that's good for lungs? Maybe the extra landfill and building of new cars is environmentally a bad thing? That bit never gets measured

A fail where the tester has deemed the vehicle dangerous  has always meant it can't be driven away.

The smoke test only applies to vehicles with DPFs as far as I know, so my 2001 Discovery keeps the old rules. Not that it smokes anyway.....

Brake fluid? Not sure how they can tell if it's contaminated.....

There are some good things, eg the check on fluid leakages which may mean less diesel spilt on the road. Or maybe not.

I'm pretty sure the smoke test only applies to newer vehicles - or my MZ two strokes and equally smokey old BMW are buggered !

You can buy a little electronic gadget Ian, which tells you how much water you have in your brake fluid. I have one which you are very welcome to borrow, though they are quite cheap to buy anyway IIRC.

I'm not bothered about my own Pete as it's all nice and fresh!

It was always the case that MoT inspectors were not allowed to remove any parts. If this is still the case, how could they check the fluid without removing the cap?
