The Year turns.

Solstice today, the light grows and the darkness shortens.

We brought a tree in and put lights on it to celebrate.  I shall crack open a Barley Wine too.

Before you know it we'll be moaning about the heat.

The only thing I really like about Xmas, is that once the dust settles its the middle of January, then February is a short month and then it's spring!

And then... by the end of March your bank balance will have recovered back to it's usual minus quantity, only to start, in August, it's steady decline towards December & January again.....,.

I informed my bank manager in no uncertain terms  that any more nonsense from him and I'd take my overdraft elsewhere....

Days getting longer, no work for 11 days, dago red flowing , tagine in the oven, classic FM on just below the level that'll annoy next door, nothing on the to-do list until Wednesday except buying a Pork pie. All going pretty well IMHO.
