Yep, I used to commute in wellies in the winter. I was always advised never to wear steel toe caps though, as if you come off, there's a chance the steel toe cap will slice your toes off. This actually did happen to a local lad who was wearing a pair of work boots  :(

i used to enjoy riding in the rain and for years never really worried about getting wet, riding in the snow was even more fun, particularly on a sidecar rig, but im getting old now, and whilst the cold and wet dont really bother me still, its the knowlege that when i hurt myself, it aches for weeks rather than hours that puts me off taking the bike for a bimble on the ice!!!

I agree. Thankfully I don't do it out of necessity anymore :)

Go stand in a bath of water. Pics and full report only are acceptable :o
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

Hi all.....Tim I av a pair of sealskinz, absolutely brilliant socks. Kept my feet perfectly dry when we (me, bro and a pal) rode up to Moffat last year in p.......g it down weather. The only slight downside to them is that they tend to make your feet sweat a tad. Apart from that great product. Oh and yes I DID stand in the bath to test them when I first bought them ;) ;)

Well, my goretex socks have definitely had a good test this week. Been outside in all weathers including snow putting up sheep wire and barbed wire. Soaked to the knickers, but my feet remained dry and warm  :)
