Weekend debrief
« on: April 30, 2012, 09:26:53 AM »
There is (for a time) a space in my garage. On Saturday I took the ER5 outfit over to my brother's house and we put it onto his spiffing bike trailer. This was a bit more involved than it sounds as we had to get the XBR outfit off first. However, all went well and in no time the rig was loaded and strapped.

Gareth drove over to pick me up at Sunday lunchtime and we set off to deliver the bike to its new owner in Solihull. Within half a mile we came to a tree fallen across the road. I think we had missed it by less than a minute. This didn't bode well for the trip as the weather was atrocious, but in his warm Ford Focus, armed with snacks and flasks, we had an easy time of it.

The deal was done painlessly and I was back home by 6.15. I then settled down to watch the MotoGP races recorded on my new and lovely Tivo box. Romano Fenati is a bloody revelation in Moto3 eh? And as for Scott Redding, what a hero. The GP proper seemed so very dull after that, but well done Cal.

If I'd known you were out and about with a trailer I'd have commandeered you to pick up me and my outfit and take me home after an interesting camping weekend.

Yesterday was the worst ride home I have ever had to endure, cold, wet, windy and with one hell of a hangover. Now laid up with lemsip and a handkerchief.

I hope Indian Tims ride home was better on his '44 Chief.

Well, played in the shed for most of Saturday, getting rid of the last domestic job in there before I rip the guts out of the building. Sunday was the best day yet. Wet and miserable outside, warm and cosy inside. Started with a cooked breckie, followed by four magazines I recently bought on ebay. Moto2 & GP watched with a lovely lunch in between before a little nap-y-nap on the settee. Bit more magazine, walk the dog between showers, then cook up a feast for tea. Wife came home from work with cider, wine and chocolates and we settled down to 'Silent Witness' on the box.

Top weekend. ;D

Wasn't time that killed off Abigail... T'was money and boredom did for her. :(

Have to say, not going out into a cold shed to work hard at c0cking something up isn't all bad. ;D

Thanks for your concerns for my welfare too.
