General discussion on future custom bike.
« on: August 09, 2011, 04:06:25 PM »

Hi all

I am just bake into bikes since my last one many many years ago. I fell in love with the SR500 but never purchased one. I think it was the big stoncking single I loved but the stock bike was not a brilliant looker.

I started looking into bike and purchased a RSX400 as it was a good price and the look of the bike pleases my eyes.

Now I like to plan stuff a long way in advance and want to build a custom bike, one I will keep for ever. It has to have a big single and sound great. I also seem very taken with the bobber style as long as it has suspension.

Searching I keep coming back to the simplicity of the SR500 like this one

Sooooo what you think? SR500 or can you think of a better engine? Style? I'm all ears..

Sorry for the typo "I am just bake into" should have read "I am just back into"

Not a lot of rear suspension in that is there? ???
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

At least its not just another bloody Harley clone.  Quite pretty, should see more custom singles.

Probably a bit painful to ride far though, I suspect that eventually the rear wheel would come through the mudguard and seat !
Note to Self: Shiney side goes UP.

Thanks

I agree those shocks must be solid. What would be nice is that I could come up with a design that gave the look of a bobber but with suspension.

Perhaps pinch some of the design queues from the mac motors series like the Ruby and stick an SRX motor in there..

I have ridden one....whilst moving rapidly, they are quite "amenable", but in slow traffic ....well you had better have your dentures well and truly fixed in.
