Loobman concerns

Just a note to all who have/are buying a loobman chain oiler...

... the plunger mechanism can stick!

Mine did and dumped a full bottle of oil all over the rear end of the bike. Looked like the button sticks against the bottle lid which is hinged around it. So I suggest you just check the plunger fully returns after depressing so save yourself a nice clean-up job.

Any chance of a photo of these new 'push button' jobbies? Mines the old squeeze type and I'm just curious how the new ones work ( The loobman looks as though it's been designed by dispatch riders so I can't think it's going to be over complicated..works well though)

email loobman and let him know, its a new product and he will be interested in any feedback. ive always found him easy to deal with.

nah, originally when i bought my first ones many moons back, i only bought 2 for my suzukis, and he was just the same back then.

Did email Dennis at loobman. Seemed nice enough. Told me he knew of one other incident of a sticky plunger and it was when the bottle was attached near the rear wheel and been used in heavy rain. Funnily enough that is where mine is fitted. Hmm.

Bl00dy thing's done it again! Cleaned it up, re-filled it, went to use it tonight and it's pi55ed oil all over the bike again. This time I'd made sure the plunger was fully returned before I rode off too.

Had a guts full and have emailed loobman for a full refund. I hear what Dennis has said but they're leaflet tells you to fit the thing near the rear wheel if you make short journeys and if this is what happens if it gets rained on... well for Gods sake, it's an oiler for a bike! What do they expect to happen to it??
