« on: March 22, 2011, 10:30:20 PM »
There I was, sitting in the pub, enjoying a pint of Broadside.....this copper come in....says  'is that your bike outside' (bloody sharp these norfolk police......only 2 people in the place, and me the only person in leathers), yes mate (you can afford to be a bit lippy when your tax and insurance are up to date, and you havn't broken any traffic laws  ;) )....'well' he said...'you should check your rear tyre, there's a sodding great nail in it'.....what a bu55er!.....thought i'd be walking home, so, gave the second pint a miss (Mr rozzer may have been waiting to feel my collar). went outside...and this what i saw.....

NERG NAIL STRIKES AGAIN!!!

Ouch! you WERE a lucky boy Steve, could have been very nasty.  I think you owe that copper a thankyou!

Similar thing happened to my car a few years ago. I was getting by pushbike out to go to work and noticed a big bulge on the inside tyre wall. On investigation it turned out that a 6" nail had gone through the tread at an angle and instead of coming through the tyre wall it had been rubbing on the inside of the tyre! tyre bod reckoned it was on the point of instant complete blow out!

Nowt wrong with that tire, just pull the bugger  out with a pair of pliars then you are good to go again. Had something similar on my BMW GS a few years ago and it was fine for the rest of the tires life.

Well spotted i would say. Regailed the story of the nail to my wife and she wants to know if it was a real one or a press on one.Lord above...
