Okay it's a scooter, but we've almost had the air-cooled singe taken away from us. I personally think that "Government" want to do away with "Powered two-wheeler" anyway, because they're only for leisure use(???).

No problem Jethro.  Got to keep the twin thumpers going somehow.

I reckon the electric bike will be even quieter than the Prius that nearly ran me over in Hay last year.  I didn't even hear it when it was all but nudging my leg.

I see from the blurb that one force is already testing it, a sort of latterday LE Velocette maybe.  I did have the rather mixed honour of trying out an electrically assisted (bit like a Commando Electric start) bicycle on the Coastal Path in Llanelli a few years ago.  Bloody awful things.  I preferred to pedal a normal bike.  Going around one large roundabout with big lorries each side and a gentle slope limiting me to about 10 mph or less I did feel rather intimidated.  Then the seat post collapsed.  Anyone tried a Sinclair C5 ?

Never tried a C5 but have seen them being raced - at Milton Keynes bowl - and some guy 'zipping' along Douglas prom at the TT.  When they are made to go faster the wheel buckle because of the heat of braking - so they have have to fit better wheels etc.  Sounded like a really good waste of time.  Bit like 25 hour velo racing.
