I was unable to bike it this weekend because Mrs Onepot is on holiday with her chums in Spain and I'm the sole carer for my two little tearaways. However, I had a blinding weekend with the little thugs.
On Saturday we had a lazy start and then set off up the lane to a flat piece of quiet road (it's a dead end) so that Daffydd (4) could practise pedalling his bike and Dylan (7) could belt around on his MTB with his mate Sam. I stayed with the little 'un and practised my unicycling. The bigger boys soon gravitated to the edge of a brook and wanted to go paddling so we popped back home for a footwear change (from daps* to crocs).
The lads had a great half hour wading up to their waist in the brook and I only got 'em out by threatening them.
The we set off to stock up for the Saturday night BBQ and we traipsed off to a supermarket

and then a cash and carry

Suitably armed we returned to cook up a storm. RobG, Mrs G, their son Thomas, their mate Mark, BJ and his son turned up along with my neighbours and their kids and we had a grand time. The highlight of the evening was when Mark (who had never met me) asked, "So, Graham, do you do any motorcycling yourself?"

Sunday started well with a call from Pat saying let's meet up and we were soon on the road. One of the best bikes at the cafe meet was a 400/4 based works Honda replica. Another tasty bit of kit was an early 70s Suzuki T125. The rest of the bikes were mostly Harleys.
Then we belted back into Cardiff for a lunch date at a mate's house and I spent the rest of the afternoon eating well, drinking good coffee and watching a gang of kids starting a garden riot. As soon as I returned home it was back into BBQ mode and we did it all again.
What a nice relaxed family weekend. You should see the bags under young Dylan's eyes tonight, he's pooped!
Cheers
