Just indulged and bought a new pair of Metzeler ME22s for the YBR - £38 from M & P. Superb.
The bike came with Cheng Shin tyres that were OK in the dry, but in the wet they felt like someone had put squeezy on them! When the new tyres arrived, I rubbed my thumb over the tread and they were as sticky as the run-in Cheng Shins. Hmm.
Needless to say, the bike is now vastly improved and I have only ridden in the wet on the new tyres. Good job these new tyres will be able to handle the rip-snorting 10.5bhp the bike will make once run-in
