Steffan,

I did manage it once on the MZ.  After buying it in London (Jack Nice RIP) I had to ride it back to Gwent at running in speeds down the M4.  Managed something silly like 70 mpg plus by staying under 50 mph.  They will do it, its the owners that are the problem.

Do the journey, getting any spares needed posted out.

The main advantage of the MZ over the Enfield is that it will run faster longer if required, and weighs less.  That noise could get a bit trying though.  2T oil - I wonder what availability is like this days ?

MZs are actually quite economical on fuel if you can keep from revving the ring out of them. I have never managed it, I know Mr M has never managed it, nor Jethro, nor yourself...so perhaps in reality you're right - they are not economical because they are too much fun!

The Supa 5 is a better engine and frame than the ETZ.But would benefit from 12v electrics and a better front brake, both easily sorted.
And yes they do like to be ridden Hard !!!!!!
I found cruising speed to be 3/4 to full throttle to be just right on my Supa 5s and ETZ.
