hi
well i have now fibreglassed the outside of the petrol tank,petsealed the inside and it holds fuel!!!!!!!
but(there is always a but)does anyone know where i can get a new fuel tap?is the xbr fuel tap the same?
does anyone have a picture of one i could look at to compare it too?

www.cmsnl.com do XBR petrol taps. They're the same as GB500 so i'm guessing they'll do for you too. bloody expensive though. Part no. is 16950-MA2-771. It does for loads of models, I bet you'd get a 2nd hand one for a song if you can find one.

Just been having a browse. The part number I gave you has been superseded by the following...16950-MK6-770.

I don't suppose that helps you very much though. New ones are 97 Euros which is a bit extreme! I'll kep my peepers open for one.
