Hi All

Watched the MotoGP yesterday and was slightly less F1ish thanks to Suzuki making a pair of bikes that seem to be a little quicker and Kawasaki HI combining the torpedo and MotoGP lines.

However the questions - the 'sport' seems to have been damaged this year by the difference in Bridgestone and Michelin should they go for a single make next year - The Cheng Shin MotoGP?

I am a bit of a dyed in the wool Yamaha man - loathed Rossi when he was with Honda - best rider on the best bike - by thought him a star for moving to Yamaha.  Derided Hayden last year for being a World Champion who cannot win races - Champion by default not by talent.  Now this year we have Stoner running away with the series.  A brilliant rider on a really fast bike that suits him on the best tyres.  Rossi is a distant and ever receding second.  Stoner has won more races this year than Hayden has in his career, last year Stoner was a fast crasher, this year he is a superfast finisher.  So does Stoner get the press he deserves?

Personally I think he is given really poor press, particulaly by the BBC.

Here is hoping Stoner finishes the job and Yamaha / Michelin sort them selves out.

Oh and finally I have yet to stop laughing at Honda.  Get the rules changed to suit them, have a bigger budget than the rest of the paddock put together and still cannot get a bike to go properly.  Seems they have the same project team as the F1 team has - the downside of which is Jenson Button is looking like a poor driver when he is one of the beat out there.

I'm for the control tyre, I wasn't, but its worked well for superbikes.
but even with a control tyre, next year is going to be really interesting.....
for my money Vermeulen will be the suprise package....and then of course there's young James...
Pedrosa will be up there too, with control tyres the front of next years grid will be packed out!

F1?......F useless

(I actually heard Martin Brundall MENTION MotoGP!!!! he was 'wishing F1 drivers could be more like MotoGP riders like Rossi, more individual, express their views and mix it with their fans' yeah well Martin, first get drivers who love the sport, who drive because it's their passion, and not just putting in 55 laps on a sunday, just for the money. 70% of the F1 grid couldn't win whatever car they were in)

Rant over

I'll get my Maclaren F1

Steve,

Your point about the money is an interesting one.

Rossi was made a very attractive offer to go to Ducati, an Italian dream ticket. His afther strongly advised him to take the Ducati offer and do the patriotic thing but he decided to stay at Yamaha and continue to assist them with their development program.
My Ass he did. He stayed at Yamaha because they offered him twice the money Ducati did and now all we hear is whinging and complaining and threatening to pack it all in unless Yamaha 'do something about the situation' i.e. dump Michelin.

I don't remember the Bridgestone runners bleating quite so vociferously when the Michelin's were so obviously superior, manufactured and flow in overnight to team orders of course.

All in all a control tyre is a backward but seemingly a necessary step.

As for Rossi he has the F1 ethos written all over him, he has sold out to the big bucks and anybody who thinks differently is deluding themselves, certainly the Italian tax man thinks so!
