A Broad Church
« on: June 03, 2007, 07:15:53 AM »
Triumph Twin engines into small Jap frames, mental Maico two-stroke engines into anything that will take it, as well as handy household hints on 'How I Clean My Visor'. Can't imagine such diverse topics being disussed on any forums with 'Vintage' or 'Classic' in the title. Long may it reign!

PS I would imagine todays POTD (Norton Featherbed + Suzuki Savage) is excommunication-able and/or a stoning offence  in many quarters...........

Aye - why not put it in a half decent frame rather than a lump of old British gas pipe?

How about this then for a bit of gas pipe to keep the bits apart?

This may go 'orribly wrong as I have no idea about this 'Insert Image' link thing button in the top left.

BSA frame, DR650 motor, other bits not sure, but I know there will be a lot of guesing going on. Goes like the proverbial off a chrome shovel and round corners as well!

I hope you all enjoy it, Bill

I like that!!

Brit Jap hybrids are cool-as I reckon.  Personally, I did have thoughts of squeezing an old Norton 600cc twin lump into the DR chassis if the motor went pop.  And then supermoto-ing it.  But the engine isn't terminal, just rattly!!

My NorDR would admittedly have no power, but it would be a nice noise, and the only way to get a new "norton" given recent repeated disasters.  Also, I've always facied on the "Desert Sled" Nortons.  I reckon it'd be a good update on the idea!!

Would have to lengthn the chassis to get the 'box in too, but it was pretty rotten, so no big deal....

What are you saying about our Charlotte?

Mind I cannot read or say that name without thinking of the good ol' Iron Maiden song

Charlotte the Harlot show me your legs
Charlotte the Harlot take me to bed

Etc etc
