New Bike.

I've today realised an ambition that I've held since my teenage years. I never thought I'd ever get one, but today, my bike was delivered. 1950 Vincent comet. 3 owners from new and only 13000 miles in its 75 years! I'm wandering round in a daze right now, this is one of the best days of my life!

Well done - I expect the price was much lower than it might have been a couple of years ago. A good time for buyers, less so for sellers. It looks lovely.

Morning John, glad you've finally got your hands on a Comet and by the looks of the images a very nice bit of kit to boot.

I was out yesterday and met up with a pair of Comets and their riders for a cup of tea and a wee tasty up at the cafe at the Bridge of Balgie, in Glen Lyon. Both machines have a lovely crisp bark and go well, making short work of the climb out from Glen Lyon and down to Loch Tay.

At their monthly meet-ups the Vincent locals are regularly getting 5+ machines turning up.

Whilst having the craic yesterday, it was mentioned that some of the twin owners can get a bit snotty when it comes to the singles, a bit like the Ducati Owner's Club and it needs to be treated with the contempt that it deserves.

I would join the Vincent Owner's Club for the knowledge, engineering expertise and the spares, with the social side being an optional extra, albeit very active, if that rocks your boat.

Enjoy putting the miles on it and a smile on your face. Good health, Bill

Many congrats John on the delivery of your comet.
Hopefully many, many happy miles to come next spring/summer 👍
