New guy wanting back on a single

I'm 64!
I've had Kawasaki singles
Harley dressers
Honda 4's
Suzuki 4's & singles
BMW triples
I'm going back to the beginning. The Thumper.
I've got an old FT500 in the shed that needs a lot of love. It's been sitting for years and leaks so much oil you can't drive it more than a mile or two.
The case gasket must have a chunk out of it.
Anyway, I'm going to be needing some parts.
I bought it the way it is and it's a rat. I paid $300 for it some years back, and it runs, but the oil runs right through it.

Good luck mate. I hope you find it is easier than you are anticipating to get your old FT up and running, at least being a Honda it should be well made. I would think spares will be ok to find too. Let us know how you get on.

Yes welcome to the TC... I’m sure given the level of information you’ll hopefully get from some of the very  clever chaps on here you’ll be able to sort out the old FT and be back out on it in no time.. best of luck with it 👍

Welcome to the club! I always liked the FT500, though not many were sold.  Good luck with your project.

CMS have a parts list for the FT which might be helpful to you.
