Self isolation
« on: March 23, 2020, 04:28:59 PM »
Given the fact we’re living through strange times at the moment, I should imagine that there will be a few of the TC members self isolating and I’m pretty sure that fairly soon we might all have to do it if the country goes in to full lock down mode. Well I remember just over 4 years ago after my accident I didn’t have much choice but to be in self isolation. It was this very site that kept me sane at times.  So if there is possibly one positive to come out of all this covid crap it’s that hopefully the posts will keep onna coming. Oh and if we’re all in lock down hopefully there will be some “project progress“ posts and pics... cheers, Michael
Ps... no I’m not in self isolation...YET🤞

Yes Michael it`s an absolute nightmare and I`d like to wish everyone here good health and to stay safe.

My wife is in the "high risk" category due to health issues, so today I`ve been sent home and told to "work from home"

Our borders / ports have been closed and so far have 13 positive cases with dozens and dozens waiting for test results to return. The tests are sent to Manchester and take approx. 72hrs to get results.

Good luck everyone, take care and keep posting. As Michael says, it may help keep us all sane  :o ;)

This is the only forum I post on, so I'll be here more often now we're all locked down.
Due to the severity of my boy's disabilities, we've been locked down for over a week now.
Good luck, to all the good people on this site.

Our doctor put Suzanne into isolation 3 weeks ago, he seemed to know how serious this would get, so apart from 1 trip by me across the road to the shop (fully masked and gloved) we have been stuck here, at least we have the garden to potter around in. The bike was due to go on the road in April but its not looking likely now :(

Only 72 hours!  Taking 5 days here if you can persuade them to actually do a test.

I have a few "self isolation" projects on in the shed.  I can also do my job from home so not much time to do them yet, but imagine that will come as work slows down. Going to be strange times for sure but we will get through it with a bit of luck, common sense and probably some belt tightening.

probably some belt tightening.

I've had my (somewhat generous) daily portion of porridge halved and been put on notice that it's tap water once the fizzy stuff runs out! :(

Done my project and I just want to ride it now! Well I suppose the hundred and one other jobs that have been neglected whilst doing this will get done now. Stops the wife nagging and I get a little praise for doing them.

Just had an email from the Wine Society saying no more deliveries for the foreseeable. Without my daily ration of Bordeaux I really don't know what I will do!

The Weatheroak Brewery are doing home deliveries of nice beer for the duration Ian. I'll be taking advantage once current supplies have run out!

Our GP was also forthright, but not as quick as yours. Did you get funny looks for the mask and gloves that early on? My paint respirator still gets some rolling their eyes and nudging, but less and less now.
