Hello all,

Bit of a mishap!  I ran out of road at gerrards while testing a Mallory yesterday.  Binned the bike on the right hand side, luckily only in the gravel.  Broke the footrest plate (-predictably, Alan! I had only the night before drawn you out a template!!), mashed the can a bit (possibly bodge-able?), etc.

Boyd- your fairing brackets DIDN’T break!!  Better, they supported the bike and saved it from a lot of damage.  Thanks, they were great!!  I hope to straighten them without snapping/cracking.  The fairing’s a bit scuffed and cracked, but also repairable I think.  The right clip-on is savable.

Tank’s fine, seat unit survived, but I have a feeling that the frame/swingarm may be bent.  We hit the tyres with a bit of a thump, and the back wheel looks to be at a bit of a jaunty angle.  Will investigate this evening (gingerly, hobbling around the garage!)

Big clods of dirt in my open intake (oo-err!!)

Unfortunately my right foot got trapped under the bike.  I think under the broken (cast, rather spikey!) rearset plate.  So I got 5 stitches in the ball of my foot, escaping quite lightly I think.  Rode to work today but can’t get a boot on.

So sadly I think Brands on Saturday is out.  Will see if the kindly Supermono Association can hold my entry fees for the next round.  Hope the bike is ok, otherwise.... Hmmm.  Will cross that bridge this evening.

Will put up some pics if someone explains how to drop them into posts??

Alan, will drop you a mail!!

John (Goode), and the other supermono chaps were ace as ever.  Ta!

a

ps. Note to self- don’t go testing/racing on your own again!!

Oh dear not good, but at least you got away relatively unscathed (no broken bones).
A bit of scaffolding pole should sort the frame ;-)

Oops! Take it that wasn't part of the test plan :-)

Bad luck matey, glad to here you're (sort of) alright though. Chin up and have another go as my Dad used to tell me when he swiped the stabalisers off my bike.

heh heh!!
Cheers guys.

Looks like the can is savable.  Having stripped it, I can't quite figure out why they're a hundred odd quid...!

Was thinking, if the frame or swingarm are bent, I do have a spare.  Can I really be bothered building it into another crap racer if it is tho??

And my foot is now massive and feckin killing me!!

:)
