Earlier this year I went to one the "Bikers Breakfast" organised by Stafford Safer Roads Partnership. If anyone has attended any of these, you will know you get a free Burger or Hotdog as reward for attending. Whilst in the queue I was stood next to one of the organising committee members. I asked him how was this all funded as there were also a few "giveaways" on the SSRP stand. I was quietly informed that these events are funded by the "naughty people" who break various speed limits and have to pay to go on Speed Awareness courses....

Well, it would appear that I will be joining the Speed Awareness Club. Alison got a letter saying are Berlingo was doing 39mph in a 30. It was me driving your honour, so rather than take the fine and points, I'll go for the awareness course option  ;)

Welcome to the club Timbo. It still costs you for the course (£90 for me) and I had to take an afternoon off work as well so it all adds up.
The 'course' was OK and I did pick up some good info.

Yep, I'm going with an open mind, and looking forward to it, apart from the £89 fee obviously  :-\
