Superkart_race_with_telemetry  ;D

Now how about a 40 - 50 kart grid of these rather than the current yawn?  :-X  ;)

My regards, Bill

Great video, lovely soundtrack!  :) I must admit I`m a fan of F1 but what a horses a$$ the first qualifying of this years season was...absolute disgrace  >:( At least the next race is going back to the old qualifying ways, which if nothing else should be exciting for at least 3 minutes  ;D ....... Ooooh, 3 minutes of excitement.....fond memories  :o ;)

I seem to remember a while ago a suggestion that that all the team should have the same basic chassis and engine with severe restrictions on tuning so that teams could only play with things like aerodynamics. That way, theoretically, it would level the playing field and bring back driver skill rather than giving the wins to the teams with the biggest budgets.

How many times have we seen 'outstanding' drivers leave one of the big teams to go to a smaller team and become very ordinary because the small team just doesn't have the same money to spend on developement.

Correct. The whole F1 dooda is a pile of dung IMHO. Its an overhyped big money extravaganza that never lives up to expectations. A rich junket for rich people, and not that great a watch.

I actually watched a car race last night and wasn't bored stupid. It was pre-1930 vehicles at Goodwood. Basically a couple of smaller ones like a Transit van chassis with a 4 litre straight 6 against a load that looked like Foden chassis with aircraft engines. Tyres were off an Enfield and steering wheel designs by either Turner or Harland & wolfe.

The overpaid go karters may as well get playstations. At least more people could have a go.

They need to design 500 mph tracks so modern vehicles can engage in a free for all if they want to keep the cars. The old stuff was a mix up of good driver in an average vehicle vs average driver in a great car. Common parts plus health and safety makes it the video game.

Great vid that Bill. Loved it.

Tbh tho, the earlier f1 cars were a more "honest" beast, much like the karts on there. The turbo era, still with stick shift was the pinnacle. 1000hp for a qualifying lap! Makes for spectacular on board footage. I think the cars had 600hp for the race?

Yes excellent vid bill, really looking forward to letting my 9year old son watch it. He's really getting into his f1 and his karts. Cheers, Michael
