What a finish that was eh!? Looked like a genuine racing incident, but really arguable if he should keep the place gained. Quality racing though :-) (and nice to get a description of why the riders reckon it's worth waving a leg around during braking ;-))

Yeah, the BBC coverage knocks spots off Eurosport, but I still like hearing Toby, Julian and Spalders rabbiting on about paddock politics and intrigue. Marc seems to make a habit of those passes, it's like he just switches off the bit of his brain that acknowledges the presence of other riders on track. I'd love to see the post race shennanigins if he did that to Cal though :)

Cal goes from strength to strength. Most of us wouldn't be up and walking after the accident he had in qualifying, let alone racing. Now he;s stopped sniping at Yamaha he may find some more tech feed-through from the Works boys. And... isn't it amazing to see how Yamaha have gone from the wall-down-the-garage days of Rossi's last tenure, to being a happy family of four with the Tech3 team.

My views on Lorenzo have changed lately. He's started being a lot more mature off the bike and readily acknowledges other rider's strengths. If he's beaten he's happy to say that the other rider rode well. He called Marc a Superstar last time out and also made time to mention Cal's riding. And of course his riding is still as beautiful to watch as ever. On that point, you may only be able to see it during qualifying (it's the only time the camera stays on him), but watch out for Randy De Puniet. He looks utterly lovely on the bike, in the same way that Bob Mac and Duke did and Mamola didn't.

BSB today  :D

ok...I agree with all that...but....I think the right man won.... I really do hope Dani Pedrosa finally wins the series... he's as pretty a rider as Lorenzo... and he bu55ered off into the distance in fine style

But doesn't Dani strike you as a bit psychologically fragile? He rides really well when things are right for him, but makes mistakes when he's under pressure.

It seems that Cal Crutchlow will lost his handlebars next year. Pol Espargaro will take his job in order to replace Rossi in the official team when he will retire.
I think that every great briton involved in motorbiking should write to Yamaha to protest. he really deserves an official bike.
Some think he is not politically correct enough...... Poor little world .....

That will be a shame for Cal, but GP's loss will be World Superbike's gain  ;)

As for SBK, what a great (and mad) weekend's racing in those classes eh? How much crash damage?

It's great that Sylvain Guintoli is getting on to the World Superbike podium more often, if only for his post-race interviews in which his accent is mostly stereotypical 'Frenchman-speaking-English', but with the occasional perfectly pronounced and accented English word and phrase (he lives in England now).

Have a look at this interview between 1m45s and 2m30s for a perfect example. It just makes me giggle. And he's such a nice bloke too:

I just looked at the video. It is not that awful.
Some friends of mine are worst.... and sometimes I am also.

I don't think it's awful at all, I just really enjoy the way he slips in the odd word or phrase in an accent that is clearly picked up from where he lives now. You can hear the regional accent.

He's a top bloke and I'm really pleased he's bounced back from last year's Effenbert Ducati fiasco.
