Club Magazine?
« on: November 03, 2012, 08:24:51 PM »
As I'm fairly new here, I was wondering if the Thumper Club used to be a membership type club and not just an internet only concern, and didid there used to be a club magazine?
Also, I've tried loading some pictures of my XBR restoration, but the site won't allow it because the file is too large. Now, I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to computers, but is there any way I can remedy the situation?

When you're looking at the pictures on the computer, the device is in 'looking at pictures' mode, and somewhere on the screen will be a drop-down menu with things on it like 'save for web' and 'save as'. These allow you to convert photos to manageable sizes. Spend some time looking around your system finding out what it can do.

Originally there was a quarterly newsletter/magazine in A5 format but it died off some years ago. GC did a stirling job as editor, but every mag needs contributions from writers and things just dried up. GC got busier and had less time to write/edit and no one else successfully took up the mantle.

Now, if you're offering...

Yes, it did.  I still have a membership card somewhere, and a few magazines.

It was the source of much (occasionally heated) discussion.  Main problem seemed to be the sheer time and commitment it took to run that style of club when most activity had begun to centre around the forum.

Almost as dangerous a topic to raise as ' two stroke premix versus pump' on the MZ forum.
