Had a free day the first for probably 2 years so did some things I wanted to do.
After 4 years off the road I have made an effort to put the srx back together from the boxes of bits etc.
2nd kick it burst into life. There was I worrying about the carbs being glued up etc.
The only problems are that the fuel tap leaks and that the engine rattles.
I'll order new seals etc over weekend. The rattle, thinking back, was probably always there but having ridden a watercooled four it just sounds loud. I'll check the valves clearances again but the barrel looked good when I put a new head gasket on.
l also sorted alices scooter out, following her latest off, serviced the fazer and examined the xts forks as ?? blowed a seal again.
This afternoon checked the bees and took the mouse gaurds off. All seven hives are still going, so fingers crossed they make it through to the rape seed.
Got a couple of days off next week so might try to get the 400 put together as well. the big job is swapping over the kph clock with a mph and sorting out the electrics and maybe the carbs need cleaning out.
Mind you, work may ring asking if I could cover and so this could all go to pot........
