Long distance trip

I was wondering what happend the the member who sold most of his stuff to sponser a long didtance trip .  How did he do?

His two travelling companions only lasted about 3 weeks.  John fell ill in Senegal and came back to the UK after about 3 months, I think.

There's a website somewhere...
