A good weekend
« on: February 20, 2011, 02:58:15 PM »
You know sometimes, amongst all the struggle of the everyday grind you have a weekend that stands out as a good one. I've just had two on the bounce. The first (last weekend) was my 35th birthday, and for reasons of decency that's all i'm going to say about that  ;). This weekend started well with a few beers over at a mates house, followed with my 18 year old leather jacket coming back from the menders. Finally getting my ass in gear with the SRX and got all the old cruddy paint off its frame, primed and painted it, so the rebuild is finally under way, and I finally got my tax rebate after waiting about two months, and the icing on the cake? Swapped my very scabby, been down the road one too many times, very uncomfortable around town screaming vfr400 nc30 for this:

once again I am enjoying riding again after too many years of going 100+ just to get kicks. The simple pleasure of a single cylinder with a slightly noisy pipe on it going blob blob blob is like coming back to an old friend.

Awesome

And a B plater too, one of the first.

Those Predator pipes last forever, and apparently the strange kink under the engine is to get the correct exhaust length.

I'm a bit jealous, for a man who has so many XBR spares I still haven't got one on the road  :( ;)

its on a D but has a slightly naughty black numberplate screw making it look like a B from that angle. awesome engine though. Got a predator for my SRX too, although the XBR seems to make a lot nicer sound, think the SRX one needs some re-engineering.  :)

I had the same problem a year ago,had way too many 'projects' on the go, and only one bike working as the others had been taken off the road for major overhaul and or rebuild. i think i was up to seven bikes at one point.Had to get rid of most of them and now i'm just down to the XBR and SRX which WILL be on the road for easter (i Hope)
