A sort of compliment?
« on: April 09, 2010, 06:18:07 PM »
In the style of PC Dimbleby from Spitting Image:

While proceding in a South Easterly direction in my accustomed manner on the A653 on the Friday afternoon I was seen to observe a silver coloured vehicle of Swedish manufacture equipped with numerous and suspicious lights and ariels. Said vehicle was noted to struggle to keep up as I made progress on my East German Velocipede. Been aware of my duty to obey sundry minor laws and thus not contribute unnecessarily to HM treasury I was careful to procede with due care and diligence. The Volvo vehicle was then seen to display a number of blue flashing lights about it's person. Stopping, I was then approached by an individual wearing a scruffy sort of overall whom I took to be an itinerant doorman or representative of one of the less reputable motoring organisations. I was addressed with a colloquial "Eh up mate, tha' we're shiftin a bit tha' noz". Recognising some dim hint of official capacity, a traffic warden etc., I enquired if I had co mittted some offence and was informed " 'A couldn't catch ya mate, wot's that then a 750?". I informed the traffic officer for that's what he was, that this was in fact a 298cc MZ and his Volvo was perhaps not the best vehicle for the Leeds ring road on a Friday afternoon. Informed that my style of riding while perhaps a bit quick was perfectly acceptable. I then proceded home in the same manner.
