CCM640RS

I saw one of these yesterday:

It is a nice bike, made when CCM were still using the Rotax motor. It's smaller than a Dominator, a bike that shares its styling, and it looks to be a lot of fun in the twisties. The bloke I met had only paid about £900 for it!

Anyone had a go on one?

I was actually thinking of buying one of these after sitting on one at the Motorcycle Show in, I think, 2001. It really seemed quite small - just right for flinging around country lanes, but I went for the practicality (and low seat height)of my CS. It is a lovely machine with some nice touches (Paouli upside-downers IIRC), though I have never seen one on the road.

the bike GC saw belongs to a mate of mine by the name of Al .The bike has genuine CCM Racing exhaust and camshaft fitted. on our last ride (lynne brianne) it seemed to go very well and will out drag my Pegaso through the lower gears quite easily and safe over takes are no problem even at 70ish the only complaint my mate has is the seat comfort or lack of , he has threatend to strap a piece of 4x2 with 6inch nails through it to the existing seat as it would be more comfortable!
I'm sure if I asked him nicely(when he's drunk) I could blag a ride on it I'll report back when I do
ps got some photos of it but cant seem to upload!

keep yer eyes open. if its anything like the ccm my mate bought a few years back, you should be able to build one from the bits that vibrate off other peoples ccm's and fall off as they ride them around. fecking awful build quality that would embarrass a 1980's russian 2 stroke.

tvr is a tiny warehouse outside kirkham now, little more than a spares store i think. was/is owned by a russian with delusions of grandeur.  ccm were more blackburn way, and iirc carl fogartys mrs had something to do with them at one time. i dont even know if they ever went bust, or if, for that matter anyone noticed. not answering the phone, not meeting delivery targets and failure to communicate with the outside world was pretty de-rigeur for them when they were trading, so it wont have drawn any attention to them when they stopped!!
