« on: October 26, 2006, 08:20:03 PM »
I don't suppose anyone is going tomorrow, to meet up.
Managed to get free tickets for me and the family, had a ticket for press day but wasn't able to take the kids as well.

Feedback from the show.

If you want to have a go on the ride outs supermoto or offroad places are verrrrrrrry limited so you need to book on
as near as 9am as poss, or don't bother at all unless you want to spend the day queing.

**VERY IMPORTANT you need both the plastic and paper parts of the licence or no rides.**

Some beautiful models on show, the one wearing leather hotpants and using a pole had my vote although mutton dressed as lamb came to mind for some of them.

CCM's bikes looked good but impracticle for everyday use, bmw's new 650's ok I could even get on the lower seat version and enfields are enfields.

Had good look at the Chinese and Korean bikes on show. The future certainly looks bright if they can improve their looks and hold their prices.

My 6 year old had his first ride on a motorbike on the honda stand so his day was ok. I had a race with charlotte on minimotos.
Only Eldest daughter, Alice felt left out she wisely declined a go on minimotos as last time she had a go it set off with out her!!

Only downer was seeing the immediate aftermath of RTC on M1 involving a bike versus car. With car parked on top of bike, Road closed and air ambulance involved. Certainly reminds you of the down side of biking.

Ride safe

Went to the NEC yesterday (Monday) and pretty much agree with what Mr.Beeman says (except that the gorgeous young lady on the Victory stand stole it for me....the MCN girls? Woof!!!) All in all the show was a disappointment. Okay the Big Four had good enough stands and Triumph and BMW's were as expected too.  But the club stands were nothing like you get at a Classic show. Everyone seemed disinterested unless you were signing up. The Korean/Chinese lot were friendly though (Hyosung bikes looked great for the money). This was the first time I'd been for a couple of years and to be honest will probably be my last. I'd rather get a cheap fllight to the Cologne show in future.
